Location: Johnny’s Half Shell, 400 North Capitol Street N.W. One block from the Union Station Metro station, and a 10-minute walk from Penn Quarter.

Description: The Boren Forum will be holding this happy hour in partnership with the Young Professionals of the World Affairs Council-DC! Boren folks, come out and meet others interested in international affairs and career development. We’ll have the run of the second floor, complete with bar and bartender. Description: Allons-y to Poste, a chic brasserie occupying the original General Post Office (1841). Happy hour runs from 4-7 p.m., and features Yeungling drafts, Miller Light, Budweiser, house red and white wines, pomme frites and truffle frites for $5 each. Description: Take a night off from the policy wonks and come explore the sexy science side of Washington at Science Club! The Boren Forum has reserved the second floor and happy hour prices run until 9:30pm! We’ve got Yuengling and Pabst Blue Ribbon at $3, Guinness and Amstel Light for $4, and house wines for $5. And for the mixologists of the group, regular liquor runs only $4!

Location: Againn, at 1099 New York Avenue. (Entrance is on 11th Street, between K Street and New York Avenue.)
Description: Take the bite out of winter with the Boren Forum at our February Happy Hour at Againn (not a misprint; Gaelic for “with us”), DC’s self-proclaimed contemporary Gastropub and one of Washington’s Top 100 restaurants! While the usual suspects will be available (all draft beers are only $5), Againn is locally famous for its hearty selection of Scotch whiskey. Happy hour appetizers include $2 East Coast oysters and $5 prawns.

Description: A portion of the sky bar, which boasts a 360 degree view of the city, has been reserved for our group and the bartenders will be serving up try our own signature drink – the Boren Identity! Happy hour specials run until 7pm, and some will continue until 8pm just for our us. To access the sky bar, enter the restaurant at the ground level, go up a half flight of stairs and then take the elevator to the Penthouse.
